I was delighted when Apple introduced high quality stereo bluetooth to the iPhone. But I was surprised at how difficult it was to find a simple, comfortable, reliable set of bluetooth ear buds. The Sony set is perfect. They fit just like wired ear buds, and the sound quality is just as good as wired ones. This was not true of a Motorola set that I had purchased earlier. The Motorola headset was cumbersome, did not fit well, allowed wind noise into my ears, and often lost the connection when I placed my iPhone in my pocket. With the Sony earbuds, I can put the iPhone in my pocket and clip the receiver to my shirt & the earbuds work perfectly, without wind noise or interruption.
The volume control is great to have on the receiver. The iPhone software does not yet support the rest of the audio controls, but the controls are there for pause, play, skip forward and back when (and if) the iPhone software is upgraded to work with them. The earbuds also have the phone functions built in. If a phone calls comes in while you're listening to music, you'll hear a ring & can take the call simply by pressing a button on the receiver, and speaking normally -- a built-in microphone picks up your voice.
This is exactly what I was looking for in a wireless headset. |

| I personally love these ear buds. they work great with my Iphone. The sound quality is very good for the price, of course i'm not real picky about that. The range of these is very good although i've never really measured. I would recommend this product! |
Sony Bluetooth ear buds get the job done

So far the Sony Bluetooth ear bud headset has served its purpose well for me. My intended use was to use these ear buds to listen to music and the audio of videos on my Blackberry Storm. I generally use them when I am stationary; ie not at the gym or running. Therefore I have not had the problem that others have with what has been described as a flimsy clip. So far, the clip has held the device in place and it has not broken. It does not feel as flimsy as I was led to believe from other reviews, however if one were to put stress on it I could see how it may not endure.
The sound quality of these ear buds is excellent for what they are. They do not block out ambient sounds or specifically aircraft background noise like my noise canceling headphones, but then again, they are not noise canceling headphones. They do block out some background noise since they are ear buds and largely occlude the external auditory canal when in place. For me, these ear buds are quite comfortable, with the supplied tips soft and securely fitting. Music sound quality is excellent. I have had no problem pairing this headset with my Storm. I have not used the microphone feature, so I can't comment on that. I have not tested the range of these since I have not been more that 1-2 feet from the Storm while I have been using these, however the connection has not been lost. Overall I am very satisfied with this headset, and it suits my purpose of listening to music or the audio of videos while being seated. |

I've had this headset for about a month now and I couldn't be happier. Music sounds great on them. I mainly use these at work to listen to music or Slacker Radio on my BBStorm. I can move throughout the room without any deterioration in sound quality. The audio controls even worked beyond a closed door in the outside hallway, roughly 30ft away from the phone. I consistently get over 6hrs of music listening on one charge. Haven't tried timing a full charge to the end though.
On phone calls, I can hear the callers perfectly, but I have gotten complaints from the other end that I sound far away..
Several past reviewers mentioned their clips breaking. Don't know if Sony redesigned the clip, but I haven't had any problems so far. A couple times I have even clipped it to my seat belt and forgot to unclip them when I released the seatbelts and they still have not broken.
My only gripe would be the cord length. Wish it were a little longer. Especially if the clip does break and I can no longer clip it on my shirt, the cord isn't quite long enough to fit in your pocket. Guess I'll cross that bridge when/if I come to it. =D |
